Pete was one of the best coaches and friends anyone could ask for. He always had my best interests within canoeing and my personal life at heart and never asked anything in return from anybody.
Pete was one of the best coaches and friends anyone could ask for. He always had my best interests within canoeing and my personal life at heart and never asked anything in return from anybody. That’s what made him so special to Viking as a club.
Anyone in the club will tell you Pete was the heart of the club and we all owe him a great deal of thanks for everything he has done for us as teams and individuals. I for one wouldn’t be where I am in the sport today without the support of Pete. He’s pushed me into the GB squads starting at youth and encouraged me to continue to push up into the Under 21’s. Then at club level he has constantly pushed me in training sessions to work harder in order to become as good as he always said I could be. In honour of Pete I along with the rest of the club will continue working in order to keep Viking at the great level Pete has had it at for many years now.
